Where are you going?

Be The Best You Can. And Then Some

Where are you going?

Do you know where you are going, or what it is you want? If you do then you are already half way there and that’s brilliant. So what do you want to do? Open up a gym. Write a book, or maybe start studying to become a teacher, or learn to ride a bike, lose weight, quit smoking, become an interior designer….

Make that choice, stop sitting around debating whether you are going to do what it is you want to do. There’s that old joke, I used to be indecisive, now I’m not so sure! We’ve all been in that place. You have a pretty good idea what must be done, but you can’t do it. You know it’s the right thing to do, but you just can’t act. You’re stuck. You keep thinking about it, over and over but still you don’t really do anything about it. You wait…wait for life, or your wife, or your boyfriend or someone to come along and work it out for you. Then you accept the outcome. And then bitch about it. So make that choice, my friend. Whatever it is. Motivation is your friend, embrace it.

What are you afraid of?

So what are you afraid of? Don’t be fearful, you are stronger than you think. Les Brown tells a wonderful story of a boy that kept running away from a dog in his neighbourhood. Every day this boy would head home from school and this dog would come out of nowhere, barking and snarling and chasing him to his door. This happened night after night and he was terrified of getting bitten by this dog. One time he was angry the dog was chasing so he stopped and picked up a brick and was ready whack the dog over the head, but as the dog got closer and he braced himself he realised the dog didn’t have any teeth!! As Les Brown would say, we all run from imagined fears, the most the dog could have done was suck on his arm!

Turning and facing those fears, embracing those fears is better than being inactive, indecisive, letting life slip by. Motivate!

Making decisions is key

Making decisions is a key activity in taking control of your life, in fact it’s a skill in itself. Some people can do this better than other, some people can cope better under stress. Like everything practice make perfect, but you can’t afford to wait around for things to happen. You have to confront your fear…fear of failure and of missed opportunities, embrace your fears, embrace change. Sitting looking at Facebook, taking selfies, bingeing on Netflix won’t make things happen, if you have a dream, where ever it is you are going or whatever it is you want, make that decision to make a start. NOW. No matter how small. Tiny steps.

“Begin anywhere.” – John Cage

Whatever Your Dream Is

Whatever your dream is, it is your dream and don’t let anyone and I MEAN ANYONE take your dreams away from you. So step up to the plate. Choose. Don’t be a victim of circumstance. You can do so much more knowing that you are responsible for the choices that have delivered you to where you are in life. Don’t blame anyone else for whatever happens. You are responsible. You make your choices from now on.

Believe In Yourself

Believe In Yourself, because if you don’t believe in you. Who else will?
