How to be Determined
Learning how to be determined takes practice, but it can be done. Being confident, staying motivated avoiding distraction. In essence, creating the right attitude, or as Jung defines attitude as, “readiness of the psyche to act or react in a certain way.” Take a look at how to be determined and reach your goals.
Avoiding distractions. It’s easy to become distracted. Studying for your exams when everyone else is partying. Missing a run or a gym session because you’ve been invited to Uncle Phil’s get together. It’s tempting. But what is more important to you? A few beers or your degree? Perhaps you can do both. Turn the TV off, mute your mobile. Keep in mind your goal. Distractions are just that, they keep you away from your end result only if you allow it, so DON’T LET IT.
Narrow Down Your Choices
Stop procrastinating. Narrow down your your choices and stop over thinking everything. In your heart you know what is best for you. Trust me, you are brave.
Be S.M.A.R.T. Work smarter not harder. Be specific, make it measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. This way you can stay determined and you will achieve.
Being flexible both with your attitude and plans. Right now with a worldwide pandemic life is crazy and off the charts and no two days are the same. Learning to adjust your way of thinking. Setting goals and don’t get distracted from the end result. Occasionally we have to take a different path to reach the same destination, so be flexible.
Get Plenty of Rest
Getting plenty of rest sounds obvious, but working too many hours can be detrimental to your health. Don’t take the laptop to bed, make sure your bedroom is set up properly as a rest room, no electronic devices in bed and give yourself time to wind down. Build Your Self Confidence
You got this far, right? Building your self confidence is easier said than done, but you are better and stronger than you realize. Write down every achievement, no matter how minor, that you make every day and then take a look at the end of the week. You will amaze yourself. Even if it is getting out of bed, taking a shower. Going for a walk, a run, speaking up at a meeting. Whatever the achievement is for you, it’s your success. It’s building up your self confidence. Pat yourself on the back. Well done. You are awesome.
